LIFE TOGETHER, INC. IS A MAJOR STAKEHOLDER IN THE $250 MILLION SOUTH CITY REVITALIZATION PROJECT

Historical Significance

Life Together, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) organization was established in 1992 by Bishop David Allen Hall, pastor of the historic Temple Church Of God In Christ. Bishop Hall noticed escalating issues of drugs, gangs, violence, poverty, and hopelessness in the Cleaborn Homes and Foote Homes housing projects across the street from his church, South City, the Old Porter Gym and the Boys and Girls Club.

With support from government, philanthropic and corporate sponsors, Life Together impacted and changed lives by launching successful campaigns against gangs, drugs and violence, including sports leagues that focused on teamwork and respect for others, cultural events, mentoring programs, social services, job fairs, and community health festivals. Stax legend Isaac Hayes served as the official spokesman for the “I Took the Pledge” campaign that youth embraced to not become involved with gangs, drugs and violence.
